It seems ages since I tramped around the Liverpool streets looking for relatives and who was 'hiding' behind those window drapes! I have recently been looking for some of my relatives in the Peak District of Staffordshire, but alas have not found any. But the weather was fine and dry so I took advantage of staying on a farm and went riding in the hills ~ what a difference from narrow streets, the bustle of the markets, the noise of the waterfront and the other things to which I have become so accustomed in the town. Having arrived home, I decided that with the weather remaining fine I would start early and make up for lost time............................

I then came to a wide gap of open grass covered ground, so decided to stop for a snack of salted pork, cheese and bread, which I shared with some rather scruffy looking children who were playing in the spring sunshine. Having washed my early lunch down with some ale, which I had secretted in my knapsack before I left home earlier, I continued on my way..........................
