Many of you will probably think I got lost in Scotland way back in August, but I did get back in one piece and will tell of my travels in a later account. Suffice to say, following Boswell and Johnson around the islands was far from easy and not without incident. Scanning through my notes I notice that I promised you that after visiting the Corporation offices in Preston, I would tell you who I found in the County Offices there together with a smattering of information I gleaned about maritime matters in Lancaster. Both these places will be dealt with after I have done a good bit of meandering around the streets, courts and alleyways of Liverpool. The last person I visited was a certain Mr. Brown who lived at 23 Great George Square. So without any more ado I will get on with my travels.
